Rawalakot Azad Kashmir

Rawlakot, the district headquarter is situated in the heart of district Pounch.It is a saucer-shaped valley which is also known as “Pearl Valley” due to its natural beauty.It's located in the Pir Panjal Range.Along with Pallandri. Rawalakot was the focal point of the 1955 Poonch uprising. It was led by the local Sudhans. Rawalakot is approximately 76 kilometres from Kahuta and about 120 km from the city of Rawalpindi,Pakistan. It is linked with Rawalpindi and Islamabad via Goyain Nala and Tain roads. Via Kotli Satiyan and Kahuta. It is also linked with Rawalpindi via Sudhnuti. The weather of Rawalakot is quite erratic. However, the climate of Rawalakot can be divided into four seasons namely spring, summer, autumn, winter. Rawalakot has mild to warm temperatures during the spring and autumn, humid temperatures during the summer, cold to snowy during the winter. Banjosa lake:) Banjosa is a beautiful lake and situated at a distance of 19 km from Rawalakot city. This lake is surrounded by green mountains, and adjusted areas are the attractive spot for most of the tourists. Toli Pir :) is 40 km from Rawalakot city. It is another beautiful spot where tourists can enjoy scenic views and hilltop. It is also the highest mountain of the Azad Kashmir. Tourists are advised to make a trip during the summer season as there is heavy snowfall in winters. Tatta Pani :) an area famous for it's unique hot water springs, which oozing out and then fall into the pouch river. This is how it's name came as, in Tatta means “hot.” Some people also visit this place and take a dip of the bath into water. They believe that this water has some medicinal value, which gives relief to diseases like joint pain, fatigue, and skin diseases. Poonch river :) is located at a distance of 35 km from Rawalakot. The most interesting fact about Poonch river is that it is situated half inside the Indian region and the other half in the Pakistan region. Many beautiful spots like Kotli, tata pani comes along the Poonch River. Nergola waterfall :) is located at a distance of 120 km from Islamabad. Tourists can enjoy this place by having an uphill walk, can do a BBQ near the scenic waterfall with beautiful weather and environment.
